When it comes to long-haul flights, comfort makes all the difference. From the comfort of the Qsuite to the refined elegance of the Al Safwa First Class Lounge in Doha, taking Qatar Airways Business Class was one of my most memorable trips.
Qsuite: A Game Changer in Business Class
The Qsuite is designed for both privacy and comfort. Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or in a group, the configurable seating options make it perfect for any setup. The lie-flat bed is one of the more comfortable seats I’ve experienced while flying.
And then there’s the dining—on-demand, restaurant-style service with a curated menu. I opted for the Arabic mezze, grilled seabass, and a rich berry tart for dessert, all paired with a glass of Champagne Laurent-Perrier.

Stopover in Doha: A True First-Class Experience
After landing at Hamad International Airport, I had one of the best layovers I’ve ever had—one that seamlessly extended the luxury of my journey. Depending on your ticket, as a Business class flyer you could get into Al Safwa First Class Lounge. Thankfully my ticket did so I spent most of my time there.
Designed to evoke the grandeur of a world-class museum, the lounge features imposing high ceilings, serene water installations, private sleeping suites, and an indulgent spa—all curated to create an atmosphere of refined tranquility. The sense of space and exclusivity was unparalleled, making it feel more like an elite retreat than a mere airport lounge.
The pinnacle of my time there? A gluttonus four-course meal in the dining space. I happily chomped my way through a velvety lobster bisque, Wagyu beef fillet, aromatic saffron-infused rice and a berry tart, all impeccably plated and served with the finesse of a Mayfair dining establishment.
The Final Stretch: Doha to Dubai

The final leg of my trip — a short flight from Doha to Dubai — showed that Qatar Airways delivers excellence no matter the distance.
Final Thoughts: Is the Qsuite the Ultimate Business Class Experience?
Without hesitation, Qatar Airways’ Qsuite stands unrivaled in the world of business class travel. The meticulous attention to detail, from the private suite to the exceptional inflight dining and world-class lounge experience, blurs the lines between business and first class. That being said I do believe it would take more to convince this solo traveler that Emirates isn’t still the best airline from the Middle East.
