Flying First promises comfort, exclusivity, and impeccable service. In this British Airways First Class Review, we take you through the experience from start to finish—setting the scene for what you can expect when flying at the very front of the cabin.
My experience flying British Airways First Class was comfortable and well executed, but it felt closer to an elevated Business Class than a fully immersive First Class experience.
Checking In
After checking in at The First Wing in Heathrow (a breeze, by the way), I headed straight to the Concorde Room. As a foodie, this was honestly one of the best parts of my experience. I probably ordered 6 items from the breakfast menu. I’m not proud of it. But I was definitely getting my money’s worth. The private dining area felt like a sleek restaurant tucked inside the airport, and the menu didn’t disappoint.

The Seat
Let’s talk about the seat (aka “the suite”), which is the real star of the cabin. It’s spacious, lies fully flat, comes with plush bedding and a large entertainment screen. There’s a sliding privacy door on some planes, but it’s not fully enclosed like you get on some Middle Eastern carriers like Emirates. You also get a decent storage area, and the seat controls are simple to use.
Service & Amenities
The amenity kit and pajamas are a nice touch, and the crew was friendly and attentive. I did enjoy the quiet cabin and the overall peaceful vibe. It’s great for getting real sleep on a long-haul flight. That said, the design and finish feel outdated. If you’ve flown Emirates Business Class, you find the experience quite similar. Yet, Emirates Business has better food and flashier tech in some cases.
The Bottom Line:
British Airways First Class is solid, comfortable, and a step above business — but don’t expect ultra-luxury. It’s a nice upgrade, especially if you’re using points, but not the most cutting-edge First Class out there.
