From relaxing days at sea to polished onboard spaces, a luxury cruise offers it all. In What to Expect on A Luxury Royal Caribbean Cruise, I cover the essentials of a Royal Caribbean Cruise.
Setting Sail : A Breathtaking Start to the Trip
We boarded Royal Caribbean’s biggest cruise ship, and it definitely felt like it! There was always something to do — from endless food choices to a relaxing spa and fun entertainment. Each night brought a different and unique dinner experience.

First Stop: Italy – Rome and Naples
Our first stop was Italy, where we docked in Civitavecchia and spent the day exploring Rome. Then we sailed to Naples. My dad suggested that we try a local African restaurant. We were unsure at first due to the lack of reviews. In the end, it turned out to be a great choice — the food was incredible.

Second Stop: Spain – Barcelona
Our next stop was Barcelona, Spain — a city that instantly won me over. Gaudí’s iconic architecture, from the Sagrada Família to Park Güell, was breathtaking. I spent the day wandering local markets, strolling the streets, and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Third Stop: Spain – Palma de Mallorca
I decided to stay onboard the ship that day and spent the day getting some sleep. Still managed to get some decent photos from the ship.

Final Stop: Italy & France – La Spezia & Marseille
The last two stops on our itinerary were the beautiful region of Provence in southern France and Pisa in Italy. We docked in Marseille, a charming coastal city with a rich maritime history. I spent the day strolling through the Old Port. The next day we finished off in La Spezia, where the famous leaning tower resides! Learning about it as a child and seeing it as an adult felt crazy full circle. One thing I was stunned by was the proximity of the clouds to the roads; it served as the best backdrop for all our pictures.

Final Thoughts
Our cruise offered us an incredible opportunity to experience the best of both worlds—luxury at sea and adventure on land. Finding the right cruise for you requires looking into all the options available. Royal Caribbean was recommended. It was a pretty decent experience. Still, I would have still preferred to look at other choices before booking in the future.
