The Middle East, consisting of 16 countries, is often overlooked by leisure tourists due to a history of wars in the region.
But there are some incredible travel spots all throughout the region. Dubai is an incredible destination for international travel, offering unparalleled luxury and breathtaking sights like the Burj Khalifa. It’s my most visited destination in the Middle East and remains one of my most memorable spots.
When to Visit
It’s best to visit the Middle East in March through May or September through November. The nights are cool, and the days aren’t as hot as they are in the middle of summer.
Now is a great time to see famous places like the Rose City of Petra or the Wadi Rum region in Jordan. The only bad thing is that the mild weather means it’s a popular time to visit the Middle East.
What to Expect
Places to Stay: Turkey and Iran are two of the least expensive countries in the area for travellers on a budget. Hostel beds cost about $15 to $30 USD, which is very cheap if you want to take a long trip in the Middle East. Dubai, Jordan, and Israel are a few dollars more expensive than other places to visit. Prices for private hotel rooms can range from $80 to $300 USD per night.
Save Money: If you’re going to Jordan, you should definitely buy the Jordan Pass ahead of time. It covers your visa fee ($99–113) and lets you into 40 of the country’s best sights, such as Petra and Wadi Rum.
Local Culture : Most of the Middle Eastern countries are Muslim, and men and women must follow strict rules. When you pack your bags, make sure you dress modestly to show respect for the people who live there, and learn the rules of each country so you don’t break any by chance.
